As Backtopoints, we have created a work at the intersection of society, art, and technology by visualizing the 432,000 earthquakes recorded in Turkey to date and the associated 6.5 million data points using a custom application we developed in the OpenFrameworks environment.
To this interactive software supported by Machine Learning, we also integrated original simulations produced in Houdini for this project, aiming to open a new window for viewers to rethink earthquakes in Turkey along the axes of art and communication design.
